Nearly 250 MIT Sloan alumni and guests gathered in Shanghai on July 19, 2013 for the third MIT Sloan Finance Forum (the first was held in New York in April 2012 and the second was held in London in June 2013).

Attendees participated in a day-long series of talks and discussions with the School’s finance faculty and other experts. Speakers were joined by David Schmittlein, John C Head III, Dean and included MIT Sloan faculty members Jiang Wang, Stephen Ross, Deborah Lucas, Jun Pan, and Robert Merton. Additional speakers throughout the day included Haizhou Huang, Managing Director and Head of Sales and Trading Department of China International Capital Corporation Limited; Shan Li, PhD ’94, Chief International Business Advisor of China Development Bank and Chairman of Cornerstone Capital Management; Mia Saini ’05 of Bloomberg; Chi-Won Yoon, ’82, SM ’86, CEO of UBS Asia Pacific; Tu Guangshao, Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai; and Justin Lin, Professor and Honorary Dean, National School of Development at Peking University.

Finance Forums provide our alumni with unique lifelong learning opportunities in cities around the world, a chance to remain connected to the School by learning about new MIT Sloan programs and initiatives related to finance, and to hear from faculty about their current research. The next Finance Forum will be held in Boston, MA on May 16, 2014.
