Merton Professor of Finance at MIT Sloan and co-director at the MIT GCFP, recently provided answers on how to think about the just-passed $2 trillion CARES Act. Professor Parker points out that the first priority is to win the medical war. The money provided to consumers and businesses by the Act is better characterized as disaster insurance, not economic stimulus.
