Please join us for a lunchtime discussion with Søren Elbech, former Treasurer at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), who will share insights gained from his experience as a capital markets executive in both the public and private sectors across capital raising, financial investments, product development and operations.

The IADB was established in 1959 and is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development projects and trade and regional integration programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. While at IADB, Søren ensured compliance with relevant treasury policies, oversaw cash coordination and management, including the bank’s funding program and liquidity portfolio. Of note, he developed and implemented a new Funding Strategy and initiated, designed and oversaw development and implantation of an innovative and proprietary eFunding web execution platform. Previously, Søren served as Director of Treasury at Eksportfinans ASA where he managed the Norwegian state-supported export financing scheme under the OECD Consensus arrangement. Previously, he served as Head of Funding at the Nordic Investment Bank, a multilateral financial institution owned by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. Most recently, Søren worked as Head of Global Deal Origination for Vestas, one of the World’s largest manufacturer of wind turbines, where he designed and implemented a strategy to source wind farm projects in SE Asia and Africa for co-development through early-stage equity investments.
