MIT Golub Center for Finance and Policy

Jobs

The Golub Center for Finance and Policy offers a variety of opportunities for students, recent graduates, and scholars to get involved with the work of the Center through internships, interdepartmental collaboration, visiting fellowships and postdoctoral fellowships.

For students and recent graduates

Although we are not currently hiring, the GCFP occasionally seeks masters and PhD students and recent graduates to serve as research assistants in support of the Center’s slate of ongoing projects. Research conducted by the Center is organized into three main tracks: (1) Evaluation and Management of Government Financial Institutions; (2) Regulation of Financial Markets and Institutions; and (3) Measurement and Management of Risk. Among a wide range of research topics, current initiatives include developing an information hub on federal credit programs and constructing a framework to aid governments in choosing the optimal financing model for their infrastructure projects. A practically focused research agenda incorporates other timely topics as well. Hours are flexible and can accommodate changing availability. Interested applicants should contact Deirdre Wade.

Students from throughout the MIT community can also bring their own related projects to GCFP for potential collaboration or other support. Interested students should contact Deirdre Wade.

Students in the MIT Sloan School of Management are encouraged to participate in the Finance & Policy Club. The Club co-hosts events with GCFP throughout the year and conducts other exciting programs such as their annual trek to Washington, DC. For more information, contact the Club’s officers.

For scholars

The GCFP attracts leading academics from around the world in its pursuit of creating innovative, cross-disciplinary and non-partisan research on the unique challenges facing governments in their role as financial institutions and as regulators of the financial system.

Every year, the Center welcomes several visiting scholars to work on related research for a one-year term. If you have an idea about research that you would like to explore with us, please contact our Executive Director, Edward Golding.
